Where to go & what to see:
ELAFITI are a group of islands placed in the Adriatic Sea west of Dubrovnik. The biggest is Šipan, and to the group belong also Lopud and Koločep (Kalamota). Their attraction is beautiful scenery and sandy beaches. ŠIPAN is the biggest island of Elafiti, the most distant from Dubrovnik. KOLOČEP is the nearest to Dubrovnik and with its subtropical vegetation, fresh sea air, grand pinewoods and olive-groves is an attractive place.LOPUD is placed between Šipan and Koločep and the most developed tourist place. On Lopud You can enjoy crystal clear sea and beaches, the best known being the sandy beach Šunj.
MLJET is the most beautiful and the greenest of all Adriatic's islands has been declared a National Park in 1960. There are two salty lakes (Veliko and Malo jezero) and a small island, Melita, with the Benedictine monastery from the 12th century. This indeed is "heaven on earth".
KORČULA is an island with the richest vegetation in the Adriatic Sea. It is an ecological heaven of the Mediterranean. Covered with hundreds of types of Mediterranean herbs and rich woods, has with 195 preserved bays and capes, and its archipelago consists of 48 small islands. The refreshing summer wind soothes the heat and is ideal for sailing and surfing.
LASTOVO is an ideal place for peaceful vacations, known for its, home-made food (spiny lobsters) and exquisite wines, as well as sports and recreational opportunities - yachting, surfing, fishing.
HVAR is the island of heather, sunshine and crickets, the island of lavender, sage and wine and the island of rosemary and secluded coves. Attractive in the summer just as in the winter, with pleasant Mediterranean climate, rich vegetation of palms, aloes, pine trees, laurel, rosemary and lavender and peaceful coves and islets filled with a multitude of pleasant scents. Because of its night life it is a favorite destination among younger generation and all those that are seeking for good time.
